In this article you will find information on how to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, and link it to your Windermere account.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before getting a new phone, if you already have Authenticator set up, make sure to provide another valid email address to emailsupport@windermere.com before making any changes to Authenticator. This ensures our technicians can reach out and support you via the backup email address, should you be locked out of your Windermere email.
- To begin, go to Google Chrome on your computer and click the 3 dots in the top right corner, then select "New Incognito Window".
- In the Incognito Window you just opened, navigate to office.com, click "Sign In" in the upper right corner, and sign-in to your Windermere account.
- After logging in, you will see a screen that says "Let's keep your account secure". Click Next.
- You will then see a screen prompting you to download Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device. You can do this from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play store (for Android devices). Once you have downloaded Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device, click Next.
- You will see one more screen, explaining what to do on your phone (we will go over this in the next step), simply click Next.
- You should now see a QR code displayed on your computer screen.
- Next, open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. Click on the '+' sign that is located in the top right corner of the app. When prompted, select "Work or School Account".
- Press "Scan QR code" and scan the QR code on your computer screen.
- Once the QR code is scanned and you are able to see your account listed in the Authenticator app, click "Next" on your computer. A 2-digit code will then be displayed on your computer screen.
- A pop-up will appear on the Authenticator app on your mobile device, asking if you are attempting to sign-in, and asking you for that code. Input the code displayed on your computer screen in the Authenticator app and select "Yes".
- Your computer screen will display a green check mark saying "Authenticator Added". Click Done.
- You have now successfully downloaded and setup Microsoft Authenticator for your Windermere account.
