In this article you will find information on how to register your phone's authenticator app to your Microsoft account.
- We will start by going to Google Chrome and clicking on the 3 dots on the top right corner, and then selecting "New Incognito Window"
- After we have our incognito window open, head on over to office.com and signing into the account which we want to get the authenticator for
- After putting in our credentials, we will come across a couple of screens giving us information. Click "Next" until you reach a QR code
- Once you have the QR code on your computer screen, go over to your phone and open the Microsoft Authenticator app. Once there, click on the '+' sign that is located on the top right corner. When prompted, select "Work or School Account" and then press "Scan QR code" and scan the code on your computer screen
- Once the QR code is scanned and you are able to see your account listed on the main screen, press next on your computer to send a test notification to your app
- Once the 2-digit code is displayed on your computer screen, input that code on your Authenticator app on your phone and select "Yes"
- After your computer screen says "Notification Approved" click next
- When asked to provide your phone number, input your phone number and select if you would like to receive a text message or a phone call.
- If you select "Receive a Code", input the code into the text box. If you select "Call me" press # when asked to confirm your identity.
- After following the steps and setting up a secondary form of authentication, click "Done"
